The situation in Jordan is not easy, as all officials are in an unenviable position, and the economic conditions are very difficult. If European countries with strong economies are groaning under the repercussions of high oil and gas prices, and the turmoil caused by the wars in Ukraine and Russia, and if Great Britain has a deficit this year of more than £55 billion, what should we do with our modest economy
We know that we were suffering economically before the Russian-Ukrainian war, and that we had accumulated mistakes that brought us to this point, but the repercussions of the war and the rise in energy prices exacerbated matters
What happened in recent days in Jordan calls us to exercise restraint, calls on people to express their demands in a peaceful way, far from any violence, because this matter - violence - is not in anyone's interest, What is required of the government is to listen to the people, go to the field, and be frank with them
In Jordan, we have problems with the method of appointment, promotion, and performance monitoring in the public sector, in addition to courtesy based on unprofessional standards, which in turn hinders it, and even limits the development of the private sector, at the same time there is huge spending on social welfare, and those who object to the government they do not want indebtedness.
They demand that Jordan be a complete social welfare state, which is impossible. Social welfare countries like Sweden and others have reached this stage after decades of high productivity and increasing taxes, ؟so what do we do
People always think about their needs, and we cannot address a person who does not have his day's food with rationality and logic. We need the government to move quickly to be able to contain the crisis, by lowering fuel prices - although this angers the IMF -and revealing to people by the pricing method, because raising prices not only leads to bankruptcy of people, but also projects and then losing more opportunities
We will not expect quick Arab support, that time has passed, and what we really need in these difficult moments is trust, and this trust needs a strong parliament that is truly representative of the people, and let us speak frankly: Who supports appointment based on kinship and lineage, then how does he want a strong government? And whoever is proud that his relatives have been given the highest positions, how can he attack corruption ?
We do not defend anyone, but we, as a people and government, need to review ourselves because many of the mistakes that occurred in our country were all partners in one way or another, each according to his responsibility and position, and I bet that the solution is based on full equality, restricting appointment to senior positions to competencies away from quotas, stopping some aspects of social welfare that cannot directly harm the poor, and fair elections will make us walk on the path of development, but the solution requires long patience, and the problem of angry people is that they do not have the energy to wait
May God protect our country from every sedition. Wisdom and adherence to the law are the basis from which all solutions are based, and for people to know that any uncalculated adventure may lead to more evil God is the Protector
