At the end of the seventies of the last century, China planned to gradually open up to the world , so it started investing in the African continent. China has contributed "relatively" to reducing poverty and unemployment rates more than other foreign investors
Chinese investment characterized by diversity, and its activities extend in the fields of agriculture, mining and contracting, in addition to manufacturing, waste treatment, financing, and real estate. Chinese companies are also distinguished from others by financial capabilities, experience, and skilled labor
Chinese investments in the Egyptian market, for example, amounted to $9.5 billion, and were concentrated in sectors, industrial, construction projects, and services. In Algeria, there is a diversified investment of about two billion dollars and a trade exchange of nearly 8 billion
The Arab-Chinese summit was held a few days ago, when the Jordanian delegation was headed by His Majesty King Abdullah
The "Riyadh Statement", which emerged from the Arab-Chinese summit, laid down more than 40 points and ambitions that must be worked on in the future in order to strengthen Chinese-Arab relations and cooperation
Jordanian-Chinese relations have been distinguished for 45 years, and China has the second largest sovereign investment fund in the world, with assets worth $941.4 billion
Today we must realize that we need to elevate the strategic partnership relations with China to new levels, which will bring more benefits to both countries
China is Jordan's third largest trading partner and second largest exporter, with the total volume of trade exchange between China and Jordan reaching $4.4 billion, an annual increase of 60% this year! In addition, the volume of Jordanian industries that have “untapped” export opportunities in the Chinese market exceeds $300 million, most of which is concentrated in fertilizer products, which are considered a competitive advantage in Jordan, followed by some chemical products, pharmaceutical industries, and textile products. The areas of cooperation between Jordan and China are large and cannot be limited to a specific field, but can focus on:
1- Direct investment in vital projects through the establishment of a Chinese-Jordanian investment fund
2- The fields of energy and renewable energy, especially green energy and electricity generation using "clean coal" and hydrogen
3- Improving the trade balance by concluding free trade agreements such as the one signed with the United States, facilitating the entry of Jordanian goods to China, and removing any obstacles to free trade between the two countries
4- Developing infrastructure, especially railways, and encouraging tourism between the two countries
5- Transferring technology used in industry, raising productivity, and opening specialized training centers in the field of information technology
6- Settling some Chinese industries in Jordan, especially in the field of automobile, electrical, software, equipment and technological industries with high added value
7- Transferring Chinese expertise in the field of agriculture and highly productive agricultural fields, especially with the decline in areas suitable for agriculture
China is Jordan's second largest partner, and the Arab-Chinese rapprochement must be invested, deepening partnership and finding new opportunities for economic cooperation in light of the outputs of the vision of economic modernization, which requires direct and indirect investment of up to 4 billion dinars
